A TYPICAL DAILY WRITING BLOCK

• Grammar Mini-Lesson (10 min): Teach a grammar skill in context through authentic writing activities.
• Writing Mini-Lesson & Modeling (10-15 min): Use mentor texts and posters to teach a writing skill, then model it in your own writing.
• Writing Time (15-30 min): Students apply both grammar and writing skills to their own writing .
