How are the Grades 1–2, Grades 3–5, and Grades 6–8 resources different?
The lesson structure and teaching sequence remain consistent across all grade ranges to provide familiarity and consistency from grade to grade. The biggest difference is the complexity of the skills and content, which increase to align with grade-level standards.
For grammar, the skills become progressively more complex in each grade range. The Grades 1–2 version includes simpler mentor sentences and foundational grammar skills, while the Grades 3–5 and Grades 6–8 versions introduce more advanced grammar concepts and increasingly complex mentor sentences.
For writing, a lot is different between grade ranges to better match students’ developmental levels and grade-level expectations. While the overall lesson structure stays consistent, the writing skills, samples, and expectations become more advanced as students move up in grade level.
